NOTE 1) Please bring a valid photo ID such as a passport or driving license. This is required for entry regardless of age.
NOTE 2) Please ensure 'everyone' arrives before 8:30 pm as the venue can be full to capacity by 9:00 pm. Check map link above for directions and you can also read exact written directions from Camden Tube Station if you scroll down towards the bottom of this webpage.
NOTE 3) We have been offered the discounted entry fee of £3 instead of the standard £5. Ensure you say Friends in London Meetup Group at the entrance to receive the discounted entry fee.
NOTE 4) There'll be three organisers hosting the event and waiting to greet new members - Martyn, Terry and Maggie. We have reserved an area in and around the actual stables and 'main bar'. There'll be Friends in London Meetup signs and helium balloons in our area to help you recognise us. In the unlikely event that we don't see you first, please ask members or staff in our reserved area for the meetup organisers so we can welcome you to the group.
Join us at a great new venue for our group - the Proud Camden Live Music Club. Proud Camden really is a truly unique venue. It's located in the 200-year-old Grade II Listed Horse Hospital in the Stables Market in Camden. Adorned by images of rock royalty throughout, the venue has been restored in a quite remarkable manner. It retains many of the beautiful and genuine features, including the original stables that once housed the horses.
Time Out (Arguably London's most famous magazine) describes Proud Camden as "London’s premiere lounge about hip spot". The venue is a gallery by day and transforms into a live music club by night.
Proud Camden is known for its commitment to featuring some of the very best live music- Jessie J, Peter Doherty, Dizzee Rascal, The Kooks, Stereophonics, and Johnny Borrell all have played intimate sets when they were up and coming artists.
On the night of our visit there'll be 4 live acts (bands and solo artists) playing short sets from 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. After 10:00 pm the Live DJ starts. The live DJ will be playing a mixture of House, Commercial and RnB music. The venue closes at 2:30 am (we host the night until 11:30pm - but many members often stay until the every end at our nightclub events)
Please note that this venue is huge and can be very busy - particularly later in the night.
Ensure you say Friends in London Meetup Group at the entrance to receive the discounted entry fee of £3 instead of the standard £5. Arriving before 8:30 pm is essential as the venue can be full by 9:00pm and the entry fee often increases after 8:30pm
Note that the drink prices substantially increase after 10:00 pm as the venue then transforms in to a Night-Club.
We don't usually run events at such large and busy venues. However, we couldn't turn down the offer of trying out this location as it's so unique and regarded as one of the best night-spots in London. If you prefer a quieter night, we recommend choosing one of our other events instead as the music here can be loud.
