Yes from me, as long it’s not more than a couple of hundred quid including fares. Lucky this came just as I was switching off the laptop Smile Hope the walk goes well – at least the sun is shining.

Take care,

Subject: [friends-in-london] Leaning Tower of Llandaff in Wales - Anyone interested in a possible meetup to this location?

Hi Folks,

We are just contacting you all about a possible summer meetup we are planning to Wales.

We wanted to check if there was any interest from our members before we start to plan the event.
Many of you know that my brother Terry and I are from Wales, so we thought we'd show you around one of our most famous sites.

This site is the Leaning Tower of Llandaff, just north of the capital city Cardiff (pictured below).

It's a beautiful large renaissance style tower built in the c18th by money raised through the Welsh Society of Druids.

At 53 metres in height, it's only a tiny fraction shorter than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but actually leans at a much greater angle.

The tower is largely unknown as it only started to lean in the last few years due to subsidence from the disused coal mine nearby. However, they have now managed to stabilise the structure and it has started to receive global publicity.

It's about a three hour journey to this location by train from London, so we may possiblly stay there overnight and book the group into the reasonably priced Big Sleep hostel in Cardiff.

So we'd be grateful to know from people if there was anyone interested in this event before we start to plan it as this will take a lot work.

Many thanks

Martyn and Terry
