This is a moderate hike of 5 miles round trip to Perry Tank Canyon Ruins. There will not be much in means of shade, so some protection from the sun may be advised. The hike will encounter views of the Cherry Creek region, ruins of the Perry Mesa settlement - the main attraction of the site is the plethora of petroglyphs. The ruins are extremely weathered and in relatively poor shape, but he compound has multiple pueblos, the largest consisting of 50+ rooms. The Perry Mesa settlements were occupied primarily during the fourteenth century.
