• Rating:  Moderate (+) *

MEET in the Home Depot parking lot (Power Rd & Superstition Springs), DEPARTING @ 7:00 am

Elev Change:  +2,956 ft

How about an epic day hike to the seldom visited Battleship Mountain in the Superstition Mountains?

From the moment you mount the southern tip of this massive formation, you cannot believe what you are seeing; it is a veritable lunar landscape surrounded by breathtaking sheer drops in all directions. Make sure to pause here and take in the mind-blowing 360-degree panorama, because the unreal ridge stretching out before you to the north beckons like a powerful magnet. Although we will hike on a trail or in a creek-bed for some of the hike, there will be some scrambling and bouldering. There are also a few areas of vertical exposure. Once you have 'boarded' and –‘disembarked’ the Battleship, join us for well-deserved sustenance after the hike at The Handlebar in A.J.

Remember that unless you are current on your $15 annual membership there is a $5 charge for the hike. Also, remember ca$h for carpool contribution and lunch.

Contact the hike leader(s) with any questions.

* Rated Moderate (on-trail portions) and moderate+ (with some exposure on the off-trail portions).
