  • Aug 2, 2014 · 7:00 AM

Kendrick Day Hike & Car Camp - North of Flagstaff      Fri - Sun, Aug 1 -3

Leader:  Rich Flammang  ([masked])      Length:  8 miles R/T

  Home:[masked]  Rich's cell phone:[masked]

Rating:  Moderate - Elev. Change:  2718’

Please RSVP with Rich to participate - Will you be hiking & camping or just joining us for the hike?

Come out to a great car camp and hike at Kendrick Peak!  For all of you that have hiked Kendrick Peak before I do not need to tell you what a great hike this is and the beautiful views from the top.  Kendrick Mountain is one of the larger volcanoes in the San Francisco Peaks Volcanic Field, reaching a height of 10,418 feet.  Driving north from Flagstaff on 180, Kendrick is the predominant mountain on the left, or west, side of the highway.  The telltale sign of a volcano, the two peaks, characterizes it.

Bring (day-hike): Water, snack, jacket, hat, gloves, umbrella

Camping is in the forest, not a noisy campground. Expect a campfire, horseshoes, good times and tall tales!

As some will already be up there camping as of Friday and some will be driving up Saturday morning, we will meet at the Kendrick trailhead at 10:00 AM.

(The morning drive up will require a +/- 6:30/7AM Valley departure on Saturday – Still, bring your camping gear (if you are not camping-averse) for Saturday night
