Please RSVP by September 4th to participate – Will you be hiking & camping or just joining us for the hike?
This hike will be at the cool elevation of the San Francisco Peaks on the north slope. On a clear day the Grand Canyon is visible ninety miles away. This hike is a loop hike with a 1.5 mile (no vehicle) dirt road connecting the two trails at the top. The trails are moderately steep and travel through beautiful stands of mixed conifer and aspens.
Note: A barbecue is planned at the end of the hike so bring some beverages, a chair and something to burn on the grill (maybe a little something to share as well).
Note: Some will also be camping in the forest after the hike (no noisy campgrounds!) so feel free to bring your camping gear and escape the valley's inferno.
