5) Remember that our Club policy is that ALL hikers wait at the finish for the last hiker to return, so plan accordingly.

Starting out at the Peralta Trailhead we head northeast on the Dutchman Trail  through the saguaro-filled Barkley Basin to the base of the Miners Needle and then west up a moderate climb to Miners Summit saddle.  Descending moderately, we will continue on the Dutchman down to LaBarge Spring.  Spectacular views of the Superstitions abound in all directions along this section.  Continuing west on the Dutchman Trail through LaBarge Canyon we will come to the Terrapin Trail where we start heading back south-east, climbing a moderate grade with awe inspiring and spectacular views of Weavers Needle.  Continuing on the Terrapin Trail we will intersect with the fairly rugged Bluff Spring Trail returning to the Peralta Trailhead.

This is a moderate hike with diverse views of the Superstitions from the Hoodoo’s above to the valleys and basins below.
Being in the desert, plan on full sun exposure most of the day.

Bring plenty of water, but if you need a refill we can get it at LaBarge Spring.

Note: Some of these trail can be overgrown; dress accordingly AND BRING HAND TRIMMERS.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
