This is a well graded trail through a typical Alpine forest. It winds in and out of small canyons and through meadows as it transverses the southwest slopes of Agassiz Peak. After crossing several small draws, the trail crosses the deeper canyon coming down from Fremont Saddle, then transverses into Freidlein Prairie, an alpine meadow on the southwest slope of Fremont Peak. The trail descends gradually eastward, traversing several beautiful aspen lined meadows. The trail ends at the wilderness boundary and the junction with the Weatherford trail, which is the turnaround point for the hike.

After returning to the trail-head we could stop at Snow Bowl for some sustenance or stop back at the campsite for a bbq (day-hikers included).

Note: Camping details to be determined once the roster is ascertained.

I had the best time and this is now my favorite hike. Got to know some people better and love how mellow the group is after hikes. The leaders are the best! We are all accounted for!
