WEATHERFORD/INNER BASIN/WATERLINE - North of Flagstaff Fri - Sun, June 12 - 14 Leader: Kurt Sedler email: [masked] Phone:[masked] Length: 20+ miles Phone: [masked] Rating: Very Strenuous ..
but.... (NOTE: less serious hikers are welcome to attend, merely turn around at a spot you deem suitable - come for the campout! ) Elev. change: 3000’
Participants must RSVP directly to the hike leader (phone & email above) by Wednesday, June 10th. Carpooling arrangements will be finalized after the roster is determined. Contact hike leader to Saturday morning rendezvous information. (for those unable to join the Friday afternoon group)
who have paid their $15.00 annual membership are free. Non-paid hikers may either join or pay the per-hike fee of $3.00.
Please read the message board about membership & carpooling guidelines. Please note that there is not a 'maybe' RSVP option - that is intentional. If you are committed to attending, and after clearing your calendar, please RSVP 'yes'. 'No' RSVP's are unnecessary This is a dayhike with car camping Friday and/or Saturday nights. Due to the elevation differential from the Valley, a one day turnaround is
not recommended (translation: driving up from 800' in the Valley on Saturday morning and hiking at 10000' is
not recommended.). Beginning at Schultz Tank, we will ascend via the Weatherford trail, once a roadway for Model T Fords to take to Humphrey's Peak. From Fremont Saddle, we will descend on the Inner Basin trail towards Lockett Meadow, meeting with the Waterline trail and return on it to our starting point, completing this loop. Camping will be dispersed, with no improvements.
NEW ADDITION.... A few of us plan on attending a Blues Concert in Strawberry on Sunday afternoon on the way home. This will bring us down the Beeline vs. I-17 - riders and drivers, please bear this in mind. Concert details >
