St. Patrick's Day Parade

  • March 16 · 8:00 AM

Here's the plan.

There is a parade in New Haven.  The parade is for St. Patrick's day.  St. Patrick's day is like some bastardized holiday in a america where people just get drunk and drink green beer and stuff all day.  We're americans, so its pretty much our job to keep that awful tradition going.

I have no idea where this parade is outside or "New Haven".  I mean, I imagine once you get there there will be hoards of people and we can just kind of follow them to where the excitement be.

My plan of attack is this, we should just kind of all get to New Haven, and then using technology find each other, so people can just kind of come and go as they please.  I'm going to take the train at some point in the morning.  If others want to ride the train, I'm sure we can figure out a time and what not and get that to be some sort of plan.

Poking around online (http://www.stpatricksdayparade....), it looks like the parade starts at 1:30 PM. Is the plan to get there early in the morning to get a good viewing spot/drink ahead of time?

The original St. Patrick's Day parade is in NYC on Monday, March 17th.
Did you know? The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade is our country’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition, marching for the first time more than 250 years ago, on March 17, 1762 - fourteen years before the Declaration of Independence. It is the world's oldest and largest parade...
Maybe I'll see you in NYC on Monday...

I'm gonna be there Sunday morning until who knows when. If you like day drinking and a shocking amount of tomfoolery for New Haven, I'd highly recommend this one.

I'm in, at least for the ride up... I always seem to find myself in weird places on st paddy's. oh, just a reccomendation: don't bring a backpack to anna liffe's... it probably won't end the way you want it to.
