Fast Track Node: From 0 to 60 with Express

Join us for a tech talk plus dinner & drinks on us!

This event is a great chance to meet other front-end engineers and innovators. After the talks, there will be time for informal and personal discussions over drinks.

Joe Stanco, Front End Developer at Buzzfeed
Joe Stanco will be speaking about Express, a web application framework for Node.js, inspired by Sinatra. Express provides small, robust tooling for HTTP servers. His presentation will cover an introduction to the Express framework and a demo on how he used the framework to build an application.

Joe is an experienced engineer with over 10 years of development experience. He specializes in applying user-centered design methodology to sophisticated e-commerce web applications. Prior to his current role as Front End Developer at Buzzfeed he worked as a Front End Developer at Animoto and a Javascript Developer at Barnes & Noble.

Many thanks to our host TurnToTech for providing free space. Their lovely event space overlooks Madison Square Park and faces the Flatiron building.

Yes, unfortunately the speaker is sick. We hope to have her speak at a future meetup.

Very excited too! Has anyone heard of http://sailsjs.org/? I'm not sure what I'd build with it exactly, coming from the design side of front end.

its a collection of common node apps that work together to create a full web framework. node on its own is barebones. Its similar to http://meteor.com that provides somewhat similar features as sailjs.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
