Hey guys, sorry we've had to cancel one of the talks. I'll still be talking about massively scaling elevation for mmf.

Please note that the event is a lunch-time excursion. I hope to have the google hangout set on my machine with the slides and screen sharing. We will see if Wynkoop's wifi is cooperating.

I like the idea of Google Hangout instead / in addition to the Meetup. It makes it easier to passively attend if I work late, too.

We had two suggestions, both for another evening meeting and a quarterly larger scale event. I offered to help organize a larger quarterly event but I likewise have difficulty with evenings in general, so someone else would need to step up and get space and topics for something like that.

We've actually been having a pretty good showing with the lunch-time affairs so we are going to keep it that way. It's actually easier to get downtown at lunch time for some folks than it is to get here at rush-hour, especially those that work down south. If you want evening affairs, you are welcome to propose one.

oyyy I could have made an evening one, noon's not going to work for me, who can make these other than those who work directly in downtown Denver??

I don't see it as much of a problem as an opportunity. I have worked within both communities and find them each to be vibrant especially respect to startups, but each has their uniqueness.

I would love to see more support from the Boulder Community, but for right now I work and live near Denver, and although Boulder is near and dear to me, I feel that there is more opportunity for growth within the Denver community at this time.

I think with this renewed push towards consistency, we can build a python community in the greater Denver area that is capable of one day supporting a Pycon. I am hoping that all of you feel the same.

The virtual meetings are a great idea. Last time at Wynkoop we had some difficulty with the WIFI because Comcast was working on their pipes. I will try to get a hangout working for the next go-around. Perhaps there is a place in Boulder people could convene for the meetup to participate in a more social setting.

I think my problem is that I work far enough away from where the Python meetups are held that Noon meetups just don't work for me.

Front Range Pythoneers has a problem of two cities... specifically its a serious time investment for Denver or Boulder people to travel to the other city during the week and weekend meetups just seem taboo.

Unfortunately I forgot the gentleman's name but while talking at last Pycon USA, we discussed the idea of a virtual meetup using Google hangouts. Sure its not remotely close to talking to people face to face but it would allow more regular events without facing US-36 or surviving RTD's BX ( BRAKE, gas, BRAKE, gas, etc ). Would anyone else be interested in joining in on this as a compliment to on site meetups?

Sigh, means I can't show up. Oh well, I was looking forward to this one too.

Sorry Xander. Please propose a meetup in the evening and I will do what I can to make it happen.
