Hike the Juniper Creek Trail

We will meet at the parking area on the north side of Deaton Bridge and carpool to the trailhead on Red Rock Rd.  We will hike from Red Rock back to the state park - approx. 7.5 miles.  A shorter option is available for those who want to bail out at Indian Ford Rd.  Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.  Bring a couple of dollars to share in the parking fee for vehicles left at the Deaton Bridge parking area.  If you have questions, call[masked]-5112.

Steve, Most folks average 2 miles an hour out in the woods hiking. Also the plan is to stop on the creek for a picnic lunch for about an hour making the entire time about 5 hours and since we will start hiking about 9 it will be 2 pm when we get off the trail. But if you just do the first 5 miles and don't stop for lunch you can get done by 12 noon.

Ok, so I clicked on the map and got directions from Google. I live in East Pensacola Heights. It has me going out on I-10, taking
Exit 31 for FL-87, turning left, taking a slight right onto Hwy 90E, and turning left onto Deaton Bridge Road. Will these directions get me there??? Or should I go through Milton and take Munson Highway to Red Rock Road to the Juniper Creek Trailhead?

That is right as we are meeting at Deaton Bridge, leaving cars there at the end of the 8 mile hike and then being shuttled to Red Rock road where the hike starts.

Sorry, I won't be able to make this hike, I have the flu and know I won't be at 100% by Sunday. Y'all have a fabulous hike!!

Sorry, you won't be able to make it Di'Anna. I hope you feel better WAY before the hike. It is good to take it easy so you completely kick the virus out of your system!
