By popular demand we are going to focus on Grunt.js, setting it up, installing new features to it, using it, and deploying it all.

We will also touch a bit on the use of Bower for package management and show how grunt and bower together makes keeping your frameworks clean and up-to-date.

James will make a small landing page showing off some of the powers of SASS

This will be presented by Tim and James.

Sounds like this room is going to be a bit packed - I was hoping for a more intimate sort of conversation around grunt.js, with opportunities for networking after. I'm very interested in the ideas, but I'll vacate my reservation to keep the attendance down.

I was playing around with the Meteor Framework and apparently it is one of the quickest and easiest ways to deploy web apps on the market atm.
Is Node.js used more widely? Is it more legible than Meteor?

I am new to using frameworks and hence have a bunch of questions!

At any rate, would love to understand how to do the deploying and using of the framework bit!

I'm still flipping between deploying with meteor, sails, or just rolling my own simple MVC with routing + sockets (especially if I'm already using a docucment db like mongo). I feel like coming out of box with lots of useful grunt.js tasks is one of the biggest factors in making an MVC framework useful.

(newbie) Do we bring our laptops to follow along or will it all just be a presentation?

    June 3, 2014

    • James W.

You can if you want, but it's might get too crowded to use your laptop. We also post all our code on GitHub

Would have loved to attend but have a work function. Hopefully there will be enough interest to redo this night in a few months!
