Cool River on Saturday Night

I talked to Cool River....turns out they do not reserve tables in the dance floor area and the only way they will reserve tables in the bar area is if we guarantee a minimum purchase per seat of $25 in food and/or drinks. Since I can't guarantee that I figure the next best option is to try to show up fairly early with as many people as possible to try and reserve some tables by first come first served. I'm not sure how busy it will be at around 7:30 but I'm crossing my fingers.

So due to the large size of our group and limited space available at Cool River I've decided to have a Pre-Funk get together (which I will schedule soon) for some drinks and appetizers in the hopes of reserving a few tables in the bar area.

This will also be a good time to talk and get to know the other members before the music and dancing start up. At that point I'm thinking as other people show up later for the dance part we could still have a large table or two that we can share among everyone in the group. In other words, the table(s) can be kind of a home base that we can share and leave our drinks, coats, etc. while some people are dancing and others are sitting.

I would like this table to be in the bar area (not down in the dancing room) for two reasons:
1) The area by the dance floor is very small and in high demand
2) It is much quieter up in the bar area so people who aren't dancing can easily talk to each other.

We have the Denver Night Life Meetup joining us as well so we are going to have a big group, which is great! I just want everybody to feel comfortable and have a good time which is why I think it's important that we have a large table or common area to interact and get to know each other...otherwise there wouldn't be much point of a meetup group. Cool River can get very crowded just from the general public.

So this is my idea but of course I am always open to any suggestions! To reply to this message, offer suggestions or comments please do so on the group Message Board.

Thanks!
Kent
