"The best play Simon ever wrote." - New York Post
By America's great comic playwright, Neil Simon, this memory play is set in a Yonkers in 1942. Bella is 35-years-old, mentally challenged and living at home with her mother, stern Grandma Kurnitz .
As the play opens, ne'r do-well son Eddie deposits his two young sons on the old lady's doorstep. He is financially strapped and taking to the road as a salesman. The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers.
Presented by TCAN Players.
Winner, 1991 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 1991 Tony Award for Best Play.
We will gather in the TCAN lobby at 1:30 to allow time for tickets and seating. The play begins at 2:00 p.m.
After the play we will gather for dinner at Morse Tavern in Natick.
The cost of our tickets will be $18 pp.
I will need to purchase the tickets myself a week ahead of time and you can pay me for your ticket when you arrive the day of the performance . Please sign up no later than Friday February 28th at noon so that I can purchase the tickets in advance. And please try not to be a no-show (I do understand emergencies) for this event as I am financially responsible for all tickets purchased. (In the event that I have already purchased the tickets and you need to cancel, please post a comment stating this as someone else in the group may like to take your ticket).
You will be able to find me in the lobby at 1:30, I will hold up a sign that says MEETUP.
Once I purchase the tickets I will post a comment stating that the tickets have been purchased and I will list those attendees included in that group purchase. In this way, others can sign up after the fact, but will be responsible for purchasing their own tickets and cannot be guaranteed seating with the group during the performance, but they will be included with the dinner reservations for after the play so we can all meet up then!.
This event is a multi meetup event and is cross posted with:
Boston Suburban Metro West Social Community
Metro West Cocktails and Culture
Please RSVP with one group only!
