Ice Skating in Bryant Park- Weeeee!!

WHAT: Join Friends from BaysideHiking & Nature MeetupHiking and Outdoor Adventure5 BORO ExplorationAlternative to the Bar SceneGateway to AdventureNYC Chill Hiking, Camping and Outdoor Activity Meetup and the Astoria Newbies as we dance, prance, frolic and fall on our asses while skating at Winter Village at Bryant Park. If you own your own skates it's free to skate. If not, skate rental is $15. If you're not into skating, there's plenty more to do at Winter Village like shopping, eating, drinking, people-watching, photography, and so on. It should be a really, really great time. After we finish skating, Reichenbach Hall - The largest German Beer Hall in Manhattan has personally invited me and my people (that's you) to drink and dine at their establishment and it's just 3 blocks from Bryant Park.

WHEN: Saturday, November 23rd at 6pm - If you cannot make it by 6, no problem, just call me when you get there:[masked]

WHERE: We will meet on the steps of the New York Public Library as seen via this link: which is located smack dab in the middle of 5th Ave and 41st Street. We will hang out on the steps and get to know each other for 20 minutes and then we'll head into the park to have serious amounts of fun.

The closest subways are:

the B, D, F, M train to the Bryant Park stop
the 7 train to the 5th Avenue stop
the 4, 5, 6 train to the Grand Central stop
and the S train to the Grand Central - 42nd St. stop

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please get in touch with me at[masked]

I had a great time! Sorry the ice skating didn't go as planned. The line wrapped around the block. But the beer hall after and the bar-hopping after that was a blast. It was great to meet you all.

Its OK, Beau! I still had a great time! I hung out with five great new people. We skated, ate and chatted around a "fireplace" inside the park. Good times! I really enjoyed myself! It was nice meeting you as well.

Beau that just means we have to schedule another ice skating night, maybe at Wollman's ;-)

This event is posted across 11 groups with a total of 82 RSVP's, but there's ALWAYS a ton of no-shows. Figure about 30-40 people coming. I'll see y'all later: 6pm on the steps of the NY Library. See event details for exact location. It's gonna get cold tonight so dress warm. Beau

suggest bringing a lock, for free storage.

Ever consider Wollman in Central Park instead of Bryant? It's bigger and less crowded, with better ice - and no guns (so far).

For anyone who is new and has never attended a meetup before or you're nervous about meeting new people, try not to be. I host events all the time and 95% of the attendees are new too and it's either their first time or they are new to the particular group I am hosting through. I make it super easy on everyone and no one is left to fend for themselves. Before you know it, you'll be chatting up a storm with a new friend in no time and having a great time. I promise.

Sounds convincing, Beau! I'm looking forward to coming even more. I don't know how to skate, but this definitely sounds like fun!

Teshia, with exception to an expert here and there and some intermediate skaters, there's gonna be tons of newbies out there mostly on their asses struggling to get up. My recommendation is to either stay on the side and hold onto the railing or skate with a buddy while holding hands. You'll get the hang of it.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
