I'm so happy the weather worked out! Fun fun~ I think I need to make myself a new head, though. Getting a little tired of having to look up all the time and not being able to breathe |D

Sadly will have to be taking my bird to the vet, and seems I will be having to work as well.

I guess we're not going after all due to the fact that we have a birthday party that day. See you all at our first WFS.

Is there someone passing Everett that I could get a ride with? Gas money won't be an issue if you need it.

Currently it looks like I will be wearing my fursuit as a partial with my new orca shirt and my GoPro. :)

Re: Olympia Procession of Species Parade. Eli Sterling created and directs this parade. He has taken an antiFurry stance, but has not outright banned Furries from his parade. His comments on his website indicate that there has been some sort of dialog with Furs, but he has not published any details. Does anyone know what was discussed?

Here are Eli's on comments on Furries.

Here are the POS founding tenets. They seem to contradict excluding the anthro community from the parade.

I don't want to drive 100 miles to an event I am not welcome at. At my last Oly POS I saw Eli remove a person in an anime costume from the parade.

This seems to be an individual that has issue with us. His vision was crafted 19 years ago and could not take into account todays Northwest culture. The staff, spectators and fellow parade participants have been welcoming. Bellingham POS will be great as usual!

And just FYI, the Belingham parade is run by different people who have been very welcoming and receptive to us for many many years. The Olympia event is the one with "drama".

The Olympia Procession has such an awkward feel to it after 2012 that even locals are passing it over. Plus the two mile walk of death. Heard good things about the Bellingham Procession.

Ah, thanks Siber for catching that. I'll just avoid the one in Olympia then. Problem solved.

I'm thinking about going to this, does anyone know where the best place to park would be?

    April 1, 2014

    • Naq R.

There are several parking spots on the east side of Lee Memorial park, behind the library that worked well for me last year.

Get there 1 - 2 hours early, plenty of spots and you can easily suit up at your car.

oooh, this looks fun... I heard about it last year and I just looked at the website now, but I don't know if I'm understanding it right... can we just get on our fursuits and walk in the parade?

  • Silver R. W.

Note to fursuiters, unless someone is bringing something, there isn't any good spots to change at the event. I usually change by my car out of sight however you may be able to use the Library bathrooms if they're available. They're located right inside the back doors of the Library.
