Re: [furries-290] Death and Loss

Its _in_ the proper board. I've been on various mailing lists since 1999
or so, Heck, one I've been on contentiously since 2000, there is
_always_ alot of extraneous discussion, it just what it is.

I'm on some 30 odd mailing lists myself right now, I get between[masked]
emails a day, all of it is filtered in some way, however there are a
wide variety of ways to manage this kind of mail flow, some of us mark
it read by filter (like blaidd), some of us filter it (like dennis and
myself), and some of us just let it roll into your email box (like you
apparently do).

Until you have that little _admin_ label next to your name, you don’t
get to tell us to change venue. You don’t get to bitch when we decide to
ignore your (so called) polite request to change venue.

Until the administration of this list decides otherwise we will discuss
and yammer about whatever it is that we want to, and people who don’t
like it, can.. well live with it. Its part of being on a mailing list,
you don’t have control over the content that comes to you, you just
sorta live with it, sometimes just mark it all as read, sometimes you
read every post.

Furthermore, we have pointed out the ability to turn off the discussion
part of this list (or even limit it to one email a day), while retaining
the ability to see new meetups, you declined this suggestion.

As far as rules, below are the rules from BAF (Bay Area Furs) a long
running (15+ years) Furry mailing list in the SF Bay Area. I follow
these rules (or try to), whenever there are no stated rules.

1. Do not make personal attacks. Feel free to critique people's
opinions, but don't criticize the people.

2. Do not post attachments. Put the file on a web server, and post a
link. Alternatively, post that you have a file, and then email it only
to interested parties.

3. Metacontent - eg, discussing what topics are allowed on BAF - is not
allowed on BAF.

4. Don't post porn. Again, put it on a web page somewhere, and post a
link. Make sure you clearly (and cleanly) let people know what you're
linking to.

5. Do not post off-list replies back to the list without permission.

I don't mean to sit here and argue with you, because it is pointless,
neither of us is an admin, but (in my humble opinion) your being an ass,
your (again, in my opinion) attitude towards this topic stinks (again,
all my opinion), and so does (again, in my humble opinion) your apparent
sense of entitlement, insomuch as you seem to hold a belief that a
community of 381 people should bend to whatever your wish is.
