Measuring The Brain: How We Learn About It with Bill Trowbridge

Hi Futurists! February will be all about the brain. Bill Trowbridge will be coming to discuss:

- The evolution and anatomy of the brain, this organ that operates on several different heirarchical scales (very briefly, as background),

- The techniques and tools we use to measure the brain from macro-scale: autopsy, fMRI imaging, micro-scale firing neurons in-vivo using lasers, and more.

- Some recent papers/discoveries to discuss as time permits.

Neurosci! Sorry I missed this. Not sure how I missed it. One of my VERY favorite topics.

Sheila, you have good taste in favorite topics. I bet Bill would make available the deck he used for the presentation, were you to ask.

Good suggestion. I just might do that, at some point.

Even though I'm not sure I'm smart enough to attend this, I'll probably be there. Will Bill also cover brain transplants?

I can't speak for Bill, but yes, of course! ;)
