Shakespeare’s second-famous “battle of the sexes” play. Will Benedick, the ever-confirmed bachelor, admit his love for the equally witty and equally independent Beatrice? Will the young lovers Claudio and Hero survive the devious meddling of others? What do you want to bet there will be two weddings in the end?
Meet me in the lobby a little after 5. Doors open/seating/dining begins at 5:15. I will go in then to get us a good spot. We will be in our regular box seats. Check in at the box office to pick up your ticket under CRAP and your name as it appears on the Meetup site. I have red hair and lots of freckles...you can't miss me. Tell the hostess you are sitting with us when you enter the theater.
If this event fills up, I will try to add a few more seats, but the waiting list will have to pay as soon as they become available, so please do not join the waiting list unless you are committed to purchasing a ticket and attending.
The New American Shakespeare Tavern is unlike other theaters. It is a place out of time; a place of live music, hand-crafted period costumes, outrageous sword fights with the entire experience centered on the passion and poetry of the spoken word. With an authentic British Pub Menu and a broad selection of Irish ales, premium brews, and liquor, the Shakespeare Tavern is a place to eat, drink, and nourish the soul.
You will need to pay for your own dinner if you will be dining at the Tavern with is. The show begins at 6:30 Please contact me if you are running late or can't make it. Sometimes I can find someone to use your ticket.
PARKING: There is a parking deck across Peachtree Street from the tavern for Emory Crawford Long Hospital. It is only $4 with your ticket stub! It's safer than some of the surrounding surface lots and they take credit cards.
