What planting/gardening methods are you utilizing currently?

My general gardening strategy is to throw a bunch of seeds everywhere and see what happens. I'm looking to learn more from others in this community so that I can be a bit more strategic with my efforts.

Which self-sufficiency topic interests you the most?

No answer yet

Can you offer related topic knowledge to contribute to group learning efforts?

Yes! I keep bees and compost (mostly with worms and soldier flies). I am a spider biologist and I have a particular interest in making my garden a good place for beneficial critters that eat pests.

What's your experience level in gardening &/or preparedness?

I've done quite a bit of gardening in other climates (Phoenix, Pittsburgh). But as described above, my strategy is to plant tons of seeds and then cultivate whatever seems to be doing best. So I have a lot to learn about gardening in Florida.

What motivated you do join the group?

I'm interested in both contributing to and learning from this community. It sounds like a great group with a noble mission.

I'm a newcomer to the Gainesville area and looking to learn more about growing food here.
