Our game industry speaker this month will be Paul Schwanz who is currently a Game Designer at Retro Studios. After eight years working as a UNIX hardware and software support engineer in and around the nation's capital, Paul decided to pursue his real passion as a game designer. He returned to school where he studied how to design, program, and produce video games.
Shortly after graduating, Paul landed a game design position in Austin, Texas. Paul's contributions at Retro include designing game systems, building proxy game levels, designing story arcs, writing dialogue, blocking out cinematic experiences, scripting NPC encounters, and designing and creating interactive items for the game environment.
