Game Development 101 with Devin Becker

Devin Becker is a great guy to talk to when it comes to game design and rapid game prototyping, as some may already know if you’ve attended his past classes. This time the focus will be an Introduction to Game Design. If you’re new to game dev, or even if you aren’t, this informative course covers all the bases. There will be two different times, for the same course.

The class is $20 to attend for adults, $10 for kids 13 and under.

It was excellent. My 8- and 10-year-old boys came too. It looked like they weren't paying attention, but they both told me what they had learned on the way home.

So it may seem like a question that I should already have the answer to, but...

What kind of game design? Game design as in computer games or game design as in board games?

I'm guessing the former because you're a programmer but it's best to ask questions when one doesn't know.

Good question. Its about both but heavier on computer games. There will be a board game focused class in the future.

Everyone planning to attend should make sure to rsvp via the Eventbrite link provided above. Also good to join this meetup group and rsvp to stay on top of future classes

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

I've had teachers bring students before and it works out great. If you know any other teachers who would be interested please let em know.
