Seattle JavaScript Game Dev Meetup #10

Mark your calendars for Tuesday March 5th! This month we'll be at Double Down where we've been promised electricity (har, har), pretzels and brats. Come out and hear from one of our Meetup members, Jeremy Foster. Professionally, Jeremy is a Developer at Microsoft. He will be presenting a talk on using Scirra Construct2 to make Windows 8 games.

See you soon!

So you are saying Jeremy is a powerful speaker? I am not shocked by this news. :)

      Will his talk be current?

Topic will be a short introduction to the Windows 8 JavaScript environment and then creating games for Windows 8 (and other platforms) using the Scirra Construct2 game engine. It will be a[masked] level discussion, but may offer an alternate and hopefully exciting way to make games even for the programmatically savvy.

FYI, Jeremy's part of an initiative by Microsoft called Zero260 (http://www.zero260.info/).

It's a series of two hour virtual classroom sessions, each focusing on how to create a specific type of game with Construct2. He'll be doing a class titled "Little Pond" from 2-4 p.m. on March 5th. I'm signed up for his "Catch A Clown" class on the 14th (as it sounds like it will help me with the "Spider Bash" game my 8-year-old wants me to help him make).

For those of you not attending the free Peter Lubbers talk on UX at the Seattle Public Library at the same time as the "Little Pond" class, you might want to sign up. It's free, and if you have questions after it, you'll be able to engage him at the meetup a few hours later.

I am not being paid for this post, have not coordinated it with Jeremy, nor does my job at Microsoft extend to gaming/apps. Just happened to see a tweet about Zero260 a couple days back.
