Gamer Meet & Greet

  • September 28, 2013 · 1:00 PM
  • Sue's Place

Who would like to get together for a meet & greet to meet other local gamers, discuss games, and maybe find some people you can play with? We did this before and it was a great way for players to find gm's and for gm's to find players. It also encourages board game nights and other events since you have already had the chance to meet some people.

Date: Saturday Sept. 28, 2013
Time: 1:00 pm

Sue has graciously invited us to meet at her place in Lindenwold, NJ.

Location: 41 Spring Garden St., Lindenwold, NJ 08021. For those familiar with the area, it's right off of Blackwood Clementon Rd., half a mile down from where BC Rd. crosses Laurel. 41 is the second house on the left. We're the big cream colored house with the red door, deck and double garages.

Sue has offered to provide most of the food as well as soda. Feel free to bring whatever kind of chips/snacks you like or any alcoholic or diet drinks.

We were not planning on having any games there but rather make this a social event. However, if folks want to play board or card games, feel free to bring some. We have a few (D&D Clue, Once Upon a Time, Family Business, Cards Against Humanity and a few others), but keep in mind the plan is to meet everyone and get to know them. If two people are off in a corner playing MtG, you're liable to miss folks!

This was a GREAT opportunity to actually meet everyone who attended, share ideas, and learn about where each of them has been and where they are heading with their participation in this group.

This was amazing. Making new friendships, talking to fellow gamers and sharing all our fond "how did you deal with player issues" talks!

Sorry gang, my weekend plans had to change so I will not be able to attend. I think this kind of meet-up, where gamers can network, is a great idea. I hope GOTCHA will do more of them.

You'll be missed at the meeting, sir. But fear not, we shall have others. ^_^

When we moved from Monmouth Cnty to Cape May Cnty, I joined GOTCHA with the hope of meeting other gamers in SOUTH Jersey to replace the Boardgames_NJ MeetUp group that I've been in for years which is now 100+ miles away. This is a great idea and I just found out that one of our grandkids is sick, so they won't be coing over this weekend, SOOooo... I will be able to attend after all. Hope to see all ya'all very so^on; - )

Alcohol is fine for this event yes (in moderation please :)). We're not opposed to having it in the house, but neither of us are drinkers so we don't keep it on hand. We will also supply tea and have a small coffee maker as well as a Keurig with a few coffee pods :)

Heck, this is practically around the corner as events go - sounds fun! Ok to bring beer, or is this a nonalcoholic event?

Hey all! Here's the information folks will need (and Terri can fill in up top since I can't ;) )

Sorry for the Repeat: To avoid going through our host's kitchen like locusts I would advise that you bring your own snacks and drinks. If you'd like to bring enough to share, that would be awesome as well.

As the above poster I was asking "what we should bring" not "if we should bring anything" showing up without anything would be rude.

      September 17, 2013

  • Mike A.

I will bring something too just let me know.

    September 16, 2013

    • Terri M.

Bring whatever you'd like. Perhaps if we get ravenous we can ask our host for local take out menus.

I would love to come and meet some local gamer's, should we bring anything? Drinks/snacks?

This is mostly a meet&greet, but we may play something light and fun to pass some time. It depends on the group that night.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
