Arkham Horror

  • Aug 10, 2014 · 1:00 PM

Arkham Horror the board game has a maximum of 8 players per board. We have two boards so the total for this meeting is 16. Please do not show up unless you are on the Yes rsvp list. We will not be able to accommodate more than 16 people.

Also, the game has the possibility of going for 4 or more hours. Keep that in mind when rsvp'ing.

Interest has been shown in having a monthly Arkham Horror game day. So I am making this happen. You're welcome. =P

What to Bring

I own the game and it has pre-generated character sheets and tokens, so you don't have to bring anything.

Keep in mind that this game has a possibility of lasting 4+ hours, so if you like caffeine you might want to consider getting something with caffeine in it. Qdoba does not serve coffee, but there is a Dunkin Donuts across the parking lot for coffee.

*The chairs are metal folding chairs. If you require a cushion, please bring one for yourself.*

Where will we be meeting?

We'll be meeting in the Community Room
at the Qdoba Mexican Restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Qdoba is located in the Ellisburg Circle Shopping Center
on Rt. 70 and Kings Highway.

1630 North Kings Highway
Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

The room is separate from the dining room.
There are long tables and chairs provided in the meeting room. Again, the chairs are metal folding chairs. If you require a cushion please bring one for yourself.

Warning to those who have been around me recently. Yesterday I was in the hospital for dehydration due to a nasty stomach virus. Please take precautions, vitamins, wash hands frequently, etc. I'm sorry for exposure. I didn't know.

Hey all, sorry. I hurt my knee this morning and just got home. Not able to drive (or certainly bike) there.

I'm here, too. I think folks are just a little slow to roll in.

Hello all, This game interests me, but having never played (or seen it played) I'm not sure if I want to commit to 4 hours yet. Would it be ok if I showed up just to watch for a bit, and get an idea of what this is about? I won't RSVP so as not to take a spot away from a person who wants to play. Thanks!

Cyen, we get new participants all the time. Unless you are set on just watching I would suggest you actually join us to play. It doesn't take too long to catch the mechanics of play. As a co-operative game it behooves us to help and guide each other. Since we started running this monthly I think we have had at least 1 new player each time.

Thanks for the reply Frank. If it's still ok then, I'll plan on being there, but won't RSVP officially so as not to take someone else's spot, but if there's an open space, then maybe I can just jump in. I also found a good video on boardgame geek that is teaching me the basics.

    Dunwich Horror
AO: Yog-Sothoth Herald: The Dunwich Horror Guardian: Nodens

Once again, terror has come to New England, this time spreading to the small country town of Dunwich, just a few miles from Arkham. The area is filled with rolling hills, many of which are topped with mysterious stone circles or the ramshackle houses of the recluses who live outside of town. At night, the piping of the whippoorwills fills the air, while lightning bugs dance in the witch-haunted hollows. This is a place where dark pacts with unknown forces are made, and where city folk go to disappear without a trace. But however much the people of Dunwich may distrust outsiders, they desperately need your help against the Horror that has manifested on the Whateley farm. . . .
