Ultimate Board Gaming League & open play

We're delighted to announce the launch of our newest league: Power Grid! Our April 8 meetup will be our preseason warmup with competition beginning on Monday, April 22. Come meet the other interested players and enjoy a game or two.

Just like always there's open gaming from 5:00 to 10:00. Everyone is welcome to come out and play even if you're not part of the league. New games start throughout the evening, so if you can't be there right when we get started that's no trouble at all.

Power Grid not your cup of tea? We're constantly organizing new leagues based on your suggestions. Through the Ages, Bezzerwizzer, Kingdom Builder, Reef Encounter, and a second season of Tichu are all currently in the works. You can sign up or suggest a league on the Well Played website:

But this time it isn't... I was referring to a Scrabble game, played with letter tiles, onto a crossword-like board with just 4 'words' intersecting in a rectangle.

You make your best play (making 1-5 words) from your tiles, score your board, pick a few tiles to keep, then pass your board and all but the few 'keeper' tiles you chose to save to your left.. draw a few more tiles, and do it again for rounds 2, 3, 4 & 5. There are as many boards as there are players (2-4). Each round you will have more tiles.

Scoring is different... all letter tiles have a value of 1... bonus points are scored for longer words or completing your rectangle.
