Examples of Gamification in the corporate world

  • Aug 29, 2012 · 4:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Don't forget to use the event hashtag: #gamifiers

Format will include a short talk from Scott Sinclair, global gamification lead for Capgemini and face to face networking - a chance to grab a coffee, meet one another, and discuss examples of corporate gamification. I will also bring along a few examples of my own to share.

Looking forward to it.

THIS MEETUP BASED ON MICHAEL'S SUGGESTION AS FOLLOWS: "I have no experience with this but it would be helpful if you could give examples of games played in the corporate world at your meetups. I haven't seen any around but heard that companies do apply this."

Scott's presentation helped me grasp the different components of corporate gamification and the examples were useful.

    Hi There folks,
Not sure I am in the right place but thought I would ask.....
I have a young business with traffic to the website for different types of functionality around music but I am looking to gamify the site to generate revenue from it......
Anyone fancy a chat about it ?

Hi David, how about you come to our next meetup? We can crowdsource some ideas for your business from like-minded people who are either profs in gamification space or are learning much about it. There will also be time to chat with folks that will be able to suggest you some gamification techniques, including myself.

Guys, feel free to suggest the activities we can organise around the launch event. Anyone has any specific gamification cases you have come across or are about to work on?

Thanks both. I think lets go for a Wednesday afternoon. I will book it in for a few weeks time to give people time to schedule it in to their diaries.

I can do Wednesday but Friday afternoon would be ok as well.

Great idea indeed, especially for the first meeting of the group. For more people to be able to attend (including myself), it would probably need to be a bit later in the day though (e.g. 18:30)

Thanks Stavros. I know what you mean but I'm keen to make it a daytime meetup as I'm keen to share and discuss with other people involved in gamifying as part of their work. My other constraint is that evening meetups for me are more tricky for me to arrange as they are outside working hours and I have a young family. What about meeting up over a light lunch - might that work?

Probably not for me, but Friday late afternoon may be slightly more possible. I definitely miss the days I was in academia, where these meetups were encouraged over strict working hours! :-)

Great idea Michael. Lets organise this. What time suits? How about tea time on a Wednesday or Friday - say 4pm?
Happy to meet at Google Campus coffee.
