Gamification toolkit

Don't forget to use the event hashtag: #gamifiers

Format will include - talk by gamification pros, a chance to grab a coffee, meet one another, and discuss gamification techniques and mechanics.

This time around we will focus our event around tools in the arsenal of gamification profs: leaderboards, badges, points, social activities, basic mechanics to achieve greater results.

Andrzej Marczewski, Gamification evangelist from Capgemini will describe the toolkit and explain the dangers of relying on extrinsic rewards. We will also investigate how a word "fun" is perceived by the audiences and what exactly it can mean behind gamification.

Good collection of things to think about, more for corporate gamification but with application to other usages, with the links to Motivation (a la Dan Pink) as well as Behavioural Economics/Psychology. Useful resources in the talk and more came up in the networking afterwards.

Meetup location or notes need to say where the meetup is as Google Campus - I met several people wandering the reception area unsure of where the meetup was to be found. And the reception guy didn't know, either.

How to improve this? The checklist at the end was good - toolify it? Should/How can we make considering this checklist part of Agile to improve business processes delivered as IT? Non-IT Gamification?

It was a solid f*cking brain tease. It turns out there is so much more theory underlying the whole concept. It opened my eyes, changed the way I look at things and even armed me with some basic methods to get me started. The Q&A section was also really helpful. I would very much recommend these workshops to anyone who is interested in gamification techniques and concepts.

A shame there wasn't more time to cover some aspects of the presentation due to time constraints.
