28. F. London. I'm majoring in Internet Communications and work in marketing splitting my time between London and New York. I'm super interested in behavioural economics and gamification. I'd like to develop my own business in the future.
My interest in gamification stems from two points. Firstly, I work in marketing for an interdealer broker. We sell market data to third party vendors and individual brokers. Our target market is particularly known for their competitive drive and in re-designing our brand strategy, I am looking at how we can embed gamification mechanisms from product design to presentation. Secondly, I am simply interested. After reading Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely, I developed a strong interest in the field of behavioural economics and gamification. The degree I am studying explores the way in which the Internet changes the way we interact. Game play is an innate behaviour as children yet as adults, social norms discourage game play even though the desire still remains. These social norms have changed thanks to the internet and technologies. I would like to learn more about how I can implement gamification strategies within my work as well as discover new insights from the experts.
BGC Partners within the Market Data division. I work with the Global Head of Market Data assisting across all aspects of the marketing division of our business. We are a small and dynamic group that has undergone recent structural changes. One of my major projects is redesigning our website - in addition to product marketing collaterals, sales presentation materials and sales campaigns. I began working with the then newly appointed Global Head of Market Data in October last year in Sydney. I have since moved to London and now split my time between London and New York.
