NYC Gaming June Meetup: Demo Night

NYC Gaming has outgrown General Assembly and is moving uptown this month to Microsoft!  But never fear, we're always here with more awesome people, demos and drinks.  Come to meet and collaborate with New York's top game designers, developers, businesspeople and creatives across multiple platforms -- mobile, PC, console, social and more.

This month's demos include:

Noah Sasso, BaraBariBall

Sam Glassenberg, The Hunger Games Adventures

Patrick Cremin, Little Legends

Jesse Freeman, Jetroid

Ashley LeBlanc, Strange Clouds

Jess Haskins, Guns of Icarus

Brian Chung, The Universe Within

Keep in mind that due to building security restrictions you must RSVP by the end of the day on Thursday, June 7th!

I liked the demos, it was a good space to host in, and everything ran pretty smoothly. It could be cool to have some kind of facilitated "meeting up," like "turn to your neighbor and introduce yourself" or something, to help get people meeting each other. Besides that, I was pleased and will come back.

Great demos by all the presenters. Lots of talent in the audience. Brad and some of the presenters need to use the microphone when speaking and taking questions from everyone - with the slight humming from the overhead projector toward the back of the room it was a little difficult to hear things in its entirety.

It strangely felt a little rushed, and I wish there was some time for a little intermission. Otherwise it was great.

Great Night! It was great to see what people are working on. My fav of the night was the 2 player (mario smash brothers type) ball game. It looks like a lot of fun. Who ever was looking for a 3D Unity guy, feel free to email. I created Astronut 3D and Baby Dance Off. I would be happy to talk about your project. You can also find my CG show reel at http://youtu.be/7yxm9wZF6mY?hd=1

Thanx Brad, looking forward to the next one.

I've got the same question as Sam: is this event 'seating room' only? Also, if the seating limit is due to MSFT security, would it be possible to register with security on-site?

    June 11, 2012

  • Brad H.

Folks, tickets are unfortunately not transferable at this point due to MSFT building security -- I had to submit the list of attendee names to their team last week.

  • David O.

Hey, I'll take the extra ticket if it's still available!

Brad, good to see that it's grown so much since the old gallery bar days! This must be the 4th or 5th location by now.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
