GarageGeeks Crowdfunding session

You are invited you to a CrowdFunding session with Amy Lesnick, Head of Social Innovation at Indiegogo.

Are you a tech founder with a dream? Are you a social entrepreneur with a bold vision for social change? If so, then you are well aware that what often stands between a great innovative idea and its execution is financing!

With greater and greater frequency, crowdfunding has been filling the money gap. Beyond the dollar, crowdfunding has enabled start-ups to demonstrate a market for their products, gain valuable rapid customer feedback, cultivate customer advocates, and increase awareness for their brand and offering. On the Social innovation front, crowdfunding empowers individuals around the world to participate in something bigger than themselves and take ownership in the projects they believe in.

* Indiegogo is the largest global open crowdfunding platform, empowering anyone, anywhere, anytime, to raise funds for any idea. Since launching in January 2008, Indiegogo has enabled campaign owners to launch campaigns from every country around the world. With millions of dollars distributed globally each week, Indiegogo is democratizing the way the world raises funds for any project - creative, cause-related or entrepreneurial.

* Amy has over 15 years experience in leading/scaling/advising early stage high growth ventures. Her background includes McKinsey & Co., early Netscape and executive roles at a variety of tech start ups. More recently, Amy was the CEO of Full Circle Fund, an instructor at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and an advisor at Stanford’s StartX Accelerator. She is especially passionate about the intersection of technology and social change. She was named by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the “Bay Area’s Most Influential Women” in 2008, 2009, and to the “Forever Influential” hall of fame in 2010

The event will take place on:
Tuesday, March 5th, 20:00
GarageGeeks HQ,
HaPeled 40, Holon

* Admission is free, registration is not required.
* GarageGeeks is sponsored by Microsoft and Initial Capital

The meet-up was great, Amy was great and the garage is really cool…
It is of great value to have the opportunity to meet Amy and to know that Indiegogo can and most importantly, is willing to go a bit further in personalizing their support and knowledge with us.
Thanks to the garage geeks for hosting the event, keep up the good work.
Also, one suggestion; lets launch some great campaigns and make Israel a second home to Amy :)
    All the best.

I am looking for partners to join a consortium or to lead a consortium applying for funding on FP7 Call 11. On rewarded proposals partners may get funding of up to 500K Euros (about 650K $). The program has no IP restrictions and no request for matching funds. The Call is looking for: Big Data novel algorithms, software infrastructures and methodologies for real time interaction, visualization, analytics and decision support applications over extremely large volumes of data. Big Data types that are currently experiencing very high growth rates are of special interest including 3D, biology, genomics, financial, geospatial, social networks, transportation, logistics, telecommunications, engineering, digital content industries and any type of data stream. Non-traditional database and storage solutions and data integrity protection tools are solicited for the robust integration and interpretation of heterogeneous data sources such as static and streaming data. I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
