Originally Garland Bark Park (GBP) was established to garner public support for the building of an off lead enclosed dog park for the northeast Dallas County area. In 2005 we started establishing a wonderful relationship with the City and notably the City of Garland Animal Shelter located at 600 Tower Street in Garland, TX.

Interest for a fenced park wained as the City would not committ land for a park right away..but instead of doing away with GBP, the volunteers wanted to continue working with the City Shelter to help get as many dogs and cats adopted as possible. In 2005 we started doing off-site adoptions twice a year with about a 95% success rate! In 2009 GBP has been holding off-site adoptions at least once a month.

Due to the change in focus of this group, we will be changing our name in 2010 from Garland Bark Park to Garland Pawsibilities. Garland Bark Park will continue to be our legally registered name.
