Good morning, my fellow degenerates. I just wanted to let you know about some upcoming events:

1.) Bethany is looking for a few good volunteers to counter anti-choice protesters. Here is what she posted out our Gastonia Freethinkers Facebook page: "Alright guys, if you have time this week, please participate in clinic defense at Family Reproductive Health Services at 700 Hebron St. in Charlotte. The times to be there are between 7 (ish) and noon Mon-Sat (except Thurs.) Non-violent defense. Message me if you need info."

2.) Wednesday, July 21st. Annual Meeting of the Exploring Joara Foundation,an archaeology non-profit organization devoted to public archaeology and exploration of Native American culture. Western Piedmont Community College, Leviton Auditorium, Morganton, NC . Featured speaker is neurologist Dr. Edward Hill who will be giving a speech titled "The Iceman Cometh" about his work on the Iceman Otzi project. For more information, check out their website: Annual meeting starts at 5:30p.m. and the talk begins at 7:00p.m.

3.) Tuesday, September 13th. Cecil Bothwell will be giving a talk at UNCC ?Separation of Church and State in America?at 7p.m. Check out Bothwell's blog for details: Once I get more information about this talk, I will post it on our calendar.

4.) Sunday, September 19th. Third Annual Western NC Atheists picnic in Asheville. Check out the link for details: If you would like to go, please contact them with your name and what you are bringing.
