Hey Jim,

Pool party sounds fantastic!  If you make it potluck you won't have to buy any food. :)  If I were you I'd pick a day that's good for you and slap it up there!

Hi  Amanda,I hope your health is good.I have been working every weekend (as usual) and can't attend groups as much as I would like to.I have an inground pool and I'm still open to a"meeting/pool party" during the week.Any Mon/Tues/ Wed. would be fine.I just need numbers so I can figure out how much food to buy-It would be a BOB for booze.PS,I don't mind if people bring the kids.Contact me anytime and we can get it started. With respect,Jim K. Ah:

Maybe we should get together to avoid taxes, eat human flesh, drink human blood, express our intolerance for women, and those with incompatible superstitions, then we should demand the government push our choices on everyone else's children, under threat of the local sheriff/truancy officer. We could invent a new "speak only" language, replace hospitals, insulin and antibiotics with incantation therapy, and demand 10% of people's money to line our silk pockets with gold bullion, and hang Galileo in effigy. After that we could raise money to support the oppression of a native people in a foreign country on religious grounds by selling bagels and lox in the cafeteria - tax free!

Sounds fun. when and where?

:)

I'm a generalist which means I know a little about a lot as opposed to a specialist who knows a lot about a little. A generalist learns less & less about more & more until he knows nothing about everything & a specialist learns more& more about less & less until he knows everything about nothing. My idea is to do something that is traditionally associated with churches to show that just because we have varying degrees of disbelief in a spiritual deity we're still good people involved with the welfare of our fellow citizens of the world. I don't think that's just me that feels that way. Secular humanism? A specialist could maybe fill in the specifics. There's also that thing that CAA did with the billboards but that would cost. That's right. I have ideas just not original ones.

Good morning, everyone.  I hope you all had a great weekend!  As organizer, I have would like to encourage all members to post ideas about new events or schedule new events for the Gastonia Society for Free Thought.

Since I am taking a few weeks off, the schedule will be open.  There are no specific times or rules, except perhaps "Do not charge fees."   If you have an idea but have questions, please feel free to email me.

Best regards,
The Friendly Neighborhood Heretic
