Entrepreneurs & Investors Message Board › Become a Solar Champion for Solarthon 2012!
San Francisco, CA
Hey! GRID Alternatives is having an event, Solarthon, and is looking for Solar Champions! Check it out:
Event: 7th Annual Bay Area Solarthon in San Jose, California (Saturday, July 21st, 2012)
Join us on Saturday, July 21st for Solarthon 2012: roll up your sleeves, put on a hard hat and get up on a roof to help install solar electric systems for low-income families in San Jose!
Solarthon is an annual solar installation block party and fundraiser for GRID Alternatives (MAKE HYPERLINK IF POSSIBLE www.gridalternatives.org) -- a non-profit organization and licensed solar installer exclusively for income qualified homeowners. The 7th Annual Bay Area Solarthon will bring together hundreds of individual and corporate sponsors, job trainees and homeowners to install over a dozen solar electric systems on multiple homes in San Jose’s Hillview neighborhood in a single day!
We are currently recruiting individual participants to be Solar Champions! Come learn about solar technology, meet amazing people and be a part of making tangible impacts for families and the environment by bringing the savings of clean solar technology to families in need. All Solar Champions must commit to raise a minimum of $250 from your networks as they sponsor you to work on one of the solar installations at Solarthon. There will be great prizes for fundraisers who exceed their minimums! Find out more and sign up today at www.solarthon.org/bayarea to become a Solar Champion to raise funds and secure your spot on a roof at the event. We only have a few spots left!
GRID Alternatives is bringing the benefits of solar to low-income communities across California all year long. Our work provides hands-on job training in the growing solar industry, lowers electricity costs for those who need it most, reduces greenhouse gases, and engages entire communities in making clean energy a reality. We’ve completed over 2,000 solar installations statewide since 2004, and are on track to complete 1,000 installations this year alone.
