Vegan Harvest Dinner Potluck

Please read the entire description! smile

Fall is creeping up on us. The last of the summer vegetables are disappearing the farmer's market, while the hearty fall vegetables are beginning to show up and remind us of cooler times to come. Celebrate the bounty of of this time of year and join the Greensboro Vegan Meetup Group for the Vegan Harvest Dinner Potluck on September 25 at 5:00 p.m. Valerie has kindly agreed to host this year's Harvest Dinner at the lovely Blue Moon Farm in Trinity.*

Please bring a vegan dish (no animal products) with at least one locally sourced ingredient. We're celebrating our local farmers and the delicious fruits and vegetables they produce! You can get local ingredients almost anywhere in Greensboro, including several Harris-Teeter grocery stores (the vegetables will be labeled "local") and Deep Roots Market. If you haven't yet gone to one of our local farmer's markets, now is your chance! There is a lovely farmer's market in downtown Greensboro on Yanceyville Street, as well as a large farmer's market off of I-40. If you are uncertain about how to find locally sourced vegetables or other ingredients, please let me know at [masked].

We're a fun, friendly group who welcomes everyone - vegan, vegetarian, and the veg-curious. Please feel free to bring a musical instrument to share! *Since this is a private address, we will not reveal the location of the potluck until a few days before it is scheduled to occur. If you are RSVP'd to attend and have not received an email with the address by Friday, Sept. 24, please email me at [masked] and I will make sure you receive it. Sometimes, the meetup.com emails do not come through.

I had a wonderful time getting to know everyone and enjoying the vast array of yummy food! Thank you all for coming out to the farm and we hope to see everyone again at next year's harvest dinner and, of course, hopefully before then as well!

Very nice dinner with fun conversations amongst good friends. Everyone enjoyed the venue of Will's and Valarie's farmhouse in the country! Thanks, everybody!
Dara will be serving her carob shakes at all future events by order of the vegan committee.

It was such a fun meetup! The food was delicious and the company was great. We had a few new people join us, as well as members of the wonderful Triad Raw Food Potluck. It was nice meeting everyone and eating all the yummy food!

Hey, Johnny...so which one you going to? :)

Hi all, I wish we had also known about the Krishna folk's Sustainability Festival when we scheduled this as well. Of course the raw foodies are welcome to join us at the farm on the 25th and perhaps try to include a local item as well in their dishes. Do you know if they have anything special planned for that date?
    Be well, Valarie

Good point, Ken. I'm sure it was unintentionally scheduled the same night as the Triad Raw Foods Potluck. In future it is best to schedule alternating dates so we can attend both fun events.
