Christmas in the country

If you’re too far from family to spend Christmas with them, don’t sit at home alone on Christmas day.  Come join us for a vegan dinner out in the country surrounded by friends and nature.  Spend a couple of hours or all day, a half mile back in the woods, in a rustic but warm and comfortable  lodge type house with an open floor plan good for socializing, and lots of large windows for observing the natural setting.  Be prepared for something a little unusual, my wife and I built the house with our own hands.  It’s far from being finished, but it’s a great place to hold a casual event and can easily accommodate a group of 25 or more for dinner and games.

Come as early as you like.  Dress comfortably, Jeans, sweat suit or pajamas.   Dinner will be ready to serve at 12:00, but we’ll eat whenever we feel like it.  I will prepare several simple traditional vegetables such as, Black-eyed peas or pinto beans, corn, lima beans, potato salad.  I may even try making a sweet potato or broccoli casserole.  Any dish or desserts and /or beverage you bring will be welcome additions.

I’m going to invite the Triangle Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup group, the Triangle Vegan Social Club, The Greensboro Vegan Meetup Group and the Very Vegetarian Society of Winston-Salem, to post this event, so you may get to meet some new veg friends.

Hi Janie, so should we meet up maybe 11:45 tomorrow? Are you close to Pisgah Church and Elm? If so, I could meet you outside my apartment complex on Elm, just five or ten minutes north of downtown. Otherwise, do let me know of a more central location. I'll pay for gas.

Yes, I'd love a ride. Are you able to swing by my apartment complex just 5 or 10 minutes north of downtown Elm st? I'm a little nervous about leaving my car downtown. My number is[masked]

    Wolfgang, Donna and Janie,
At this point it looks like 35 to 40 people are coming; most likely some will stay late. I hope so. I can’t guarantee there will be any food left, but you are welcome to come. You can call me and maybe I will have an idea of how late people will be staying. Some people will want to get on the road before dark. Dennis[masked]

Hi again, I must have signed up after December 18th. Anybody have the directions to get to Dennis's house?

Hi Dennis ! Due to my work for the animal shelter , I may be able to arrive at your house at around 3 pm . Would that be too late ? I would totally love to come though !

Hi Wolfgang, I would love to carpool as well. I don't think I got the directions to Dennis's house that he e-mailed on the 18th. I can meet you at the animal shelter as well, if you're willing to carpool. I'll also contribute for gas.

the problem is that it is impossible for me to say when we are done there plus I really need to shower first before getting in contact with humanity !

Also, are any vegetarians (as opposed to vegans) coming tomorrow? I may bring a vegetarian dish rather than a vegan dish.

Hi Dennis, I have an engagement in Greensboro at 12:00 tomorrow, but I would still love to come and spend Christmas in the country. I would plan on leaving Greensboro at 2:00 and getting to your house around 3:00. I see that someone else is hoping to come at 3;00 as well. Also, to my knowledge I did not get directions that you e-mailed on Dec. 18th. Could you send them again? thanks, Donna

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
