Food choices are an important part of self care. What we eat becomes not only the fuel for our activities, it also has an effect on our mind giving the basis for both physical & mental well-being.

Through Ayurveda, the Science of Life, we discover fascinating knowledge about living a healthy, lively and balanced lifestyle, according to our own personal needs. This eye-opening course gives us the understanding of the 3  types of body constitution and the 3 states of mind (the 3 gunas) leading to all the physiological and psychological characteristics.

Right foods contribute to raise our level of awareness and elevate the state of our mind which definitely affect the quality of our lives. Ayurveda is a completely natural health system recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Session 1 :
Theory : 1 1/2 hour
The Origins of Ayurveda. Its medical standing in today���s world
A background to the different body types
The influence of the mind
Cooking : 1 hour
-Breakfast
-Raw and cooked breakfasts
-Delicious milk substitutes
-The importance of flax seed in a vegetarian diet

Session 2 :
Theory : 1 hour
Subject : The qualities of the five elements and the three doshas
Cooking : 1 1/2 hour
Soups
-What is a soup?
-Demonstration of a raw and a cooked soup
-Soups for different body types and seasons

Session 3 :
Theory : 1 hour
Subject : The Gunas and food. How does food affects the mind?
Cooking : 1 1/2 hour
-Vegetables & grains
-Quick and easy balanced dishes
-Live food vegetable dish
-Using spices for balancing the 3 Doshas

Session 4 :
Theory : 1 1/2 hour
Subject : How our system becomes unbalanced
Cooking : 1 hour
-Salads
-Salad dressings
-Wilting greens for digestible salads
-Compound salads
-Sprouting and its importance

Session 5 :
Theory : 1 1/4 hour
Subject : The six tastes
Balancing the 6 tastes to feel satisfied
How the 6 tastes affect the mind
Cooking : 1 1/4 hour
-Proteins
-Ayurveda���s view on proteins
-Proteins and acidity
-Good sources of vegetarian proteins
-Innovative raw & cooked protein dishes
-The value of seaweed

Session 6 :
Theory : 1 1/2 hour
Subject : The process of dis-ease
The process of digestion
Improper food combinations
Cooking : 1hour
-Sweets and Puddings
-Alternative sugar free sweets
