Take a moment to call or email all of the commissioners personally and let them know how you feel about this. I'm sure the trappers will be doing the same.

Hi animal lovers,
Please read below to see the results of the meeting on 5/7.  Your support is needed on 5/21 to stand up for the foxes! Please send this to all animal lovers you know.

Subject: It was breathtaking ... fox hunting in Guilford County

SPCA of the Triad

It was a breath-taking moment last night ...

... as Commissioner Carolyn Coleman made the motion that will allow all of us a second chance to speak up about allowing fox trappers an unlimited "bagging" season in Guilford County.
No question--the large number of people who stood up in the audience while others spoke at the podium in opposition of this unlimited "bagging" ... well, that sent a powerful message to the elected officials. It is hard to overstate how important it is to show up and stand up.
Even as you stood in silence, your voice was heard.
"Bagging" is of course a very nice word for what really happens when these animals are trapped in leg holds and other devices, then sold to train hunting dogs how to chase down and kill prey.
The thing is, given half a chance, the foxes might outwit the dogs.  But they are enclosed in a pen with no escape route.  It's called a "canned hunt." Sounds benign doesn't it? Like something you might have in your kitchen cabinet. Let's call it what it is.
Your presence is needed one more time.

Commissioners will hold a public hearing during their regular meeting on May 21st at 5:30 pm, upstairs of the Old Courthouse at 301 West Market.
We have heard that the trappers are planning to come by the hundreds.  Come stand with us one more time.
Take a moment right now to call Commissioner Coleman and thank her and all the Commissioners who voted with her. It will only take a minute and it means a lot to our elected officials to hear that their bravery counts for something.  Her number is (336) 674-4699.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended last night's meeting. Please hit reply and let us know you were there. We didn't get everyone's name. You deserve a personal thank you.
Please forward this email to your friends, family and contacts.
