Monthly Techspace Open Evening

Tonight our main activities will be finalising and testing our RFID door opener, and hopefully connecting a little LCD panel up to display some text when the RFID reader is triggered.
We may also have some brand new computers ready for various versions of Linux to be installed (general use computers for techspace members). Plus the usual hacking and tinkering with various things.

We might even fire up the BBQ as well :)

Our regular monthly open techspace meeting. Come along for a night full of science & technology hacking. Work on group projects and throw your own ideas around. Visitors are encouraged to attend these open nights, we are a friendly bunch of people. Members have full use of tools & equipment at the space (also welcome to bring your own). Wireless internet is available.

The regular open meeting is the second Wednesday night of every month from 6:30pm in Southport. Directions and more information is available on our website:

See you there!

Great to see a few new folk drop in. As usual, there seem to be a few concurrent activities on the go, and as often happens, they are not necessarily what was advertised as going to happen - it all depends on who turns up and what takes their interest at the time. As is often the case though, something involved Arduino and something involved Reprap. We also got to discuss exactly what open-source computing hardware we might spend the Linux Australia funds on. Paul Breuker seems to be getting a lot of our electronic stuff under control. The BBQ and coffee machine was going yet again.
