Re: [gctechspace] Door documentation

Finally, yesterday I pulled out my old dusty UML In A Nutshell book. All the door and cam stuff would be so easy to understand if it had some UML models of it. So somewhere in the next few weeks I do want to get back to UML modelling and use the TechSpace stuff as subject matter. Dunno if anyone here is interested in UML per se, but I am sure it would make the TechSpace systems very easy for people to understand sufficiently, and very quickly, so they might be tempted to refactor and enhance what is already there.

UML diagrams make concepts and implementations understandable to me anyway. Dunno why more people don't spend time getting a basic knowledge of it. I used to do pre-sales support here in Qld for Rational (eg Rose modeller) before IBM bought it and took it in-house. You can do all you need to using Dia. I think it would also make Lean/Agile etc projects run better, but something tells me not many Lean/Agile folk have time for it, eg "Don't interrupt me, I'm too busy spewing out code".

Hey Steve,

There is much more coming, I'm collecting all the arduino code and making sure other people can understand it.
Should be all up on the interwebs shortly :)

Hey all,

John Boxall from www.tronixstuff.com has a great blog that has a lot of emphasis on arduino.

I saw something on google+ about a door controller, contacted him mentioning techspace had done it and he has responded asking if it is documented.  Is it?  Huh? Huh?

I sent him a link to the door page and the code on github, but is there any more?

All the best

Steve
