RE: [gctechspace] Needed broken old big screen TV

Only the rear projection TVs that look like a big box have the Fresnel lens.  Not CRT TVs

All the best

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I need the fresnel lense. It's a big sheet of plastic behind the glass somewhere.

I want to use it as a big magnifying glass. Apparently if you get one big enough, you can make your own obsidian.

Many Thanks,

Matthew Sherborne

What do you need? - my father in law has a lot of TV parts. We threw out all the CRTs a while back though.

Last time I was at Lifeline at Molendinar still have a load of CRTs... I have no idea why they still keep them or have them powered on - they would be using more power than what they are worth.

Hi guys,

Does anyone have an old broken big-screen TV ? (CRT style, not plasma, nor LCD)

The bigger the better.

I just need some parts from it, but I'm happy to take it away for free and dump it if that helps.

Many Thanks,

Matthew Sherborne
