Door strike pulls 450mA

I have your USB plug pack supplying the 5volts for the Arduino.

We should be able to use 1 x 12v supply for both.

What current capacity do you need?
Thanks

Version 1 of new RFID door access is now operational.
All existing RFID codes from the web door database are loaded, as well as 4 spare fobs and 2 spare cards.

Temporarily using bench power supply, as I couldn't find a 12v plug pack to use(prefer not to use a PC supply, as I think it will be overkill for this application. )

Cable from existing RFID reader not quite long enough to reach , so temp it is strung just below roller door, above head height, and out of the way of any door parts.
Please be careful when opening roller door, until cable can be rerun better.

RFID reader is on right hand side of back entrance, you can see the coil in the window.

Once your card/fob has been placed against the coil for approx 1 second, the door strike will activate, if you have been granted access., the strike will activate between 7-10 seconds, so no need to rush.
Currently, you may or may not hear the door strike click, and you might have to push IN on door, before pulling OUT to open door. The existing door knob still has to be turned AS WELL.

Version 2 will add back in the smart phone access, but as that requires Internet access, not a hurry just at the moment.
