Android Short Talks

  • Apr 24, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • Arbormoon Software, Inc

Starting at 6:30pm, we'll have free food sponsored by Arbormoon Software, Inc. Our main meeting will start at 7pm, and will feature three short talks.

Recording Demos with Kit Kat's screen record feature

Learn how to record a demo video of your Android app without a video camera!  Keith Bourne will walk through the steps of using Android Development Bridge to record an app demo video directly on your device through Kit Kat's (4.4) new screenrecord feature.  He will add tips and tricks along the way to prepare the demo videos you record for promotional or education use.

In-App Purchase and Billing

Todd DeLand will present a quick overview of in-app billing concepts (a few slides), workflow, plus some code that is in his Auto Volume app. He will show a test transaction from beginning to end, and view the transaction in the Google Wallet Merchant account.

Todd DeLand is a software engineer, photographer, and father from Ann Arbor. He works at Above The Treeline and in his spare time on various Android projects. He enjoys keeping up on technology and finding ways to integrate it with daily life.

Supporting Synchronous Collaboration in Mobile Apps: Use Collabrify.IT’s SDK to Collabrify YOUR App!

Starting out in the K-12 space, we built an SDK to collabrify – enable mobile apps on iOS and Android to support the simultaneous use by two or more individuals who need not be co-located – educational apps such as concept mapping, KWL charting, drawing/animation, writing, etc. We have now generalized the SDK, started Collabrify.IT, Inc., and are looking to license the Collabrify SDK to iOS and Android mobile app developers.

In our presentation, we will demo a collabrified app (WeList, a collabrified list making app), describe the architecture of the underlying collabrification system, and show code snippets for how to actually collabrify an app. Our primary intent in giving this presentation isn’t sales, but rather we are looking for feedback from developers on our collabrification technique/architecture.

Presenting will be Elliot Soloway, CEO and UMich Professor, Kevin Crosby, Josh Lin (RPM Associate), Vidal Borromeo, Josh Meyer, Adrian Prayogo.

Keith, I was wondering if you could put up your slides, or those 2-3 steps for recording video.
