Developing Glassware for Google Glass

6:30pm to 7:00pm: Networking

7:00pm: Developing Glassware for Google Glass

In this technical session we will introduce Google Glass’ main features and the two possible ways to develop Glassware. In particular, we will cover:

• The Mirror API: a set of RESTful services that transmit information to and receive notifications from Glass devices. The Mirror API is specially suited for developers with experience building web apps (including, but not limited to: Go, Python, Java, .NET, PHP, Python, & Ruby).

• The Glass Development Kit (GDK): Glass is built on the Android 4.0.4 platform, so you can write APKs using the standard Android SDK (API Level 15) and sideload them onto Glass. If you’re an Android developer, this will be music to your ears.

We will also review the current Glass platform developer policies as well as some tools you can use today to develop glassware more efficiently.

Location sponsor: Uber Offices.

Had a great time at the meeting. Google Glass never gets old. Like wine, it's better with time.

I am interested in augmenting traditional medium with Google glass applications. Initially, translations are the product area I am working on. After that, medical applications in conjunction with wireless medicine.
