Informal Meet and Greet in Burbank

Hey all, we're having our first meeting of 2012, a meet-and-greet at 7 PM on Thursday, May 24 at Gordon Biersch in beautiful downtown Burbank.

This is going to be a very informal meeting. That means we'll mostly just be hanging out and talking on the Gordon Biersch patio, weather permitting, so there won't be any speakers or demos scheduled (and you're totally going to be paying for your own check!) But that also means you can show up a little late or leave early, no problem.

We're just going to have a little social time, make friends and enjoy the evening, much like our 2011 meeting. But this time we're going to devise our schemes, er, make our plans for upcoming meetings. So if you have an idea about something you might want to speak about in the future, that would be so very welcome.

We'll put the details on our newly-minted Meetup group soon as well if you want to join there, but no RSVP is needed — you can just drop by. Hope you can join us for the inaugural GDG LA meeting!

I'm here first! Waiting out on the patio, the temp is perfect, the game is on, and there's free wifi!

Hi John! We are hoping to have events throughout the LA area (our last event in 2011 was nearly in Orange County). I am practically sure we will be in or near Santa Monica for an upcoming meeting, just thinking of the convenience of any potential speakers. But everyone in the Valley and near Burbank, this one's for you!

Hi! I live in South Bay. I really wish I could go, but the thought of driving north on the 405 at rush hour gives me preTSD. Will there be any future meetings a little farther south, maybe in Santa Monica? Have one for me. -John

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
