Nest recently launched the Works With Nest Program with the vision of creating a more conscious and thoughtful home. In this talk, we will walk through the Nest developer program and API and showcase what developers can build with the API.
Mark McBride is services engineer lead at Nest Labs, creator of the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Protect: Smoke + Carbon Monoxide Alarm. Mark is responsible for the development of Nest’s server infrastructure, which makes it possible for Nest customers to connect with their homes from wherever they are. Prior to Nest, Mark was an early developer on Twitter's streaming API, delivering thousands of messages per second in real time to millions of users. He also managed developer productivity and led the web delivery, developer tools and infrastructure test teams during his time at Twitter. Mark also held engineering management positions at both EMC and Luminate. He earned his MBA degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his BS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Davis.
