GDG Geek Bike Ride Sunday Aug 12 in SF

From: Kevin N.
Sent on: Monday, May 6, 2013 9:01 PM

Tom and I are organizing a bike ride in SF this weekend.  Their are many GDG leaders from around the world who will be in town for I/O, so Tom and I wanted to organize something to help welcome them to town.  I'd also like to invite you to join the bike ride.

11:15 am Blazing Saddles bike rental at 2715 Hyde St. (optional for those renting)
12:00 noon 584 Jefferson Street (start of ride)

Map of Ride:

The easy ride will ride to Fort Mason then over the Golden Gate Bridge and down to Sausalito downtown for lunch then take the ferry home.

The advanced ride will ride to Fort Mason then over the Golden Gate Bridge then into the mountains.  Tom can provide more details.

If you are renting a bike, then meet at Blazing Saddles bikes at 2715 Hyde St. at 11:15 am.
If you want to reserve a particular bike, you can reserve it in advance online.
Bike rental is $30-$40 USD, there's a 10% discount if you reserve online.
The ferry is $10.50 USD.

Here are pics from a similar ride I organized before Java One:

The easy ride has a few hills, but it is easy enough for anyone.  I will have my 8 year old son behind me on a tag-a-long.  My son says I'm the boat anchor and he's the rocket ship but I claim the opposite.

Please email Tom or I if you like to attend the ride and we will help you get signed up.

Thanks
Kevin
